Around the world there
are lots of different purposes for dogs. There are working dogs, like dogs who
work on farms and herd animals. There are other type of work dogs to though
like ones who work for the police and search and rescue teams. They use their sensitive
noses to sniff out missing peoples and hidden objects. A dog’s nose is up to
10,000 more time sensitive than a humans. There are guard dogs. Guard dogs can
either guard a business or they can guard you and your family. When we think of
guard dogs we think of German shepherds and or of junkyards. Then lastly we
just have our lovable furry family member. In a book called the boy who
harnessed the wind I learned that all their dogs really eat is mice and table
scraps when they have it. He describes how they have never seen a fat dog, only
ones so skinny all you can see is their ribs. I couldn’t imagine this, I always
see my dogs and others dogs running around fat and healthy. This just shows how
fortunate we are.

ReplyDeleteI never really thought about it that way before I just took it for granted that we have everything we need right her in front of us and we don't have to help our parents every day of our lives just to eat, and we don't have to hunt for our food to get meat. We almost always have food for our dogs to eat and occasional table scraps which my dogs get when they have been really good. We bath them, feed them, take them to the vet, and pamper them more than other dogs. We don't just use them for hunting in the woods or to chase chickens. We do tend to use them to herd sheep, and police use them as drug dogs to sniff out drugs, attack dogs to attack run away prisoners, and other stuff like that. But, most of the time we use dogs to comfort us and to play with and have fun.
ReplyDeleteDogs are amazing. They help find things, guard, and play with you. In America, we have so many opportunities and before reading "The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind" I never got the chance to truly be grateful of everything I am allowed to do and the things I can utilize to learn and better my education. Even now, I am using a computer to Blog and reply to blogs. These dogs in America and all around the world have a chance to help and in return just to get fed and be loved. Some people think that they can be dangerous and harmful, but really they are kind animals and they are awesome. These graceful animals truly are "a man's best friend"
ReplyDeleteSometimes as humans we can underestimate dogs for what they really are. Dogs are a humans best friend , but people often miss treat them and don't feed them to make them starve. I the book William could not feed Khamba because of what little food they had. Dogs truly are amazing.
